1. The Mosque which Sh. abdulrashid's father established and subsequently taught Qur'an recitation in was not called Masjid Sheikh Ali Sufi as many in Somalia called it. The name that the Sheikh gave that Mosque was Masjid Al-Qur'an. A fitting name for a great learning place of the Qur'an.

  2. To mohamed abdullah,
    The way that the sheikh read is another way of reciting it. I have heard it read as saththan. I believe that both recitations are correct. I have heard that there are ten different pronunciations /qarah different ayahs. So this falls under that category.

  3. Brother Abdirashid Ali Sufi is a good Quraan reciter but he is more good on Qiraat than all the Sheikh on this page. However it kind of wierd when he pronounces some words like in Surah Nuh,Maryam,Tah and many others.I like
    his recitation and Tajweed

    I have listened proper Surat Al-Yaasiin.in ver. 9 as you mentioned "Suthan" and "sathan" if you listen Mustapha Gharbi - مصطفى غربي
    from Marocco he pronouns "Suthan" as well I believe both are right suthan and sathan

    Great tajweed and this recitation is very wonderful and beautiful to listen to. Alhamdulilah the quran is so beautiful. This is the beauty of the quran it has many different styles of recitation alhamdulilah. Wasalaam.

  6. I prayed behind him in most Ramadaan in late 1980.The Masjid located at the junction of kp.
    I was student at the Somali University then but never missed most ramadaan.
    His Quran recitation still afresh in my ears .let allah reward him.

  8. Brother Abdul Rashid Ali Sufi's recitation of Surah Nuuh at 3:30 sounds completely different from As-Sudais and others. Isn't it qat wi Atihim not Qat-waya as I believe he said. Can someone please explain this to me.
