I think the words he sings are "manje uhambile, ungishiyile, inhliziyo yami ibuhlungu" which translates as "now you have gone, you have left me, my heart is sore". I don't know what language the "bana, bana" part is or if I'm just not hearing in his pronunciation, but there's no word like that iz Zulu.
Trying to find the Wild World(Zulu) (bana bana) lyrics in the literal zulu language. Yusuf Islam made a major comeback especially at he Nobel Peace Program where he virtually brought modern Islam and its "real" side to the world. As a evangelical christian I have been very impressed with Yusuf being perhaps the first ambassador for the truely wonderful Islamic nation. We share the same God albeit the same desire for peace and above all love for the less fortunate the disinfranchised and hungery. Yusuf (enlightened by Allah) has mellowed and his singing has not only a message, but perpetuates a centain subtle holiness that feeds the soul.
