Biography of Idriss Abkar
Sheikh Mohammed Ibn Idriss Abkar is considered as one of the best voices in reciting the holy Quran, in the Islamic world, besides his powerful memory and his lovely personality, which got him to be in the list of the greatest Imams and Quran reciters.
Idriss Abkar was born in Jeddah, in 1975. His passion for the Quran started since he was eight, when he started taking courses in Tawhid mosque, then joined the Quran sessions in Qatani mosque at the age of thirteen; his strong memory helped him to learn by heart the whole Quran in four years, and as a result he took the role of Imam for three years.
His sweet voice and wide religious knowledge plus his lovely personality helped him to lead prayers in many mosques such as, Ibn Taymia, Ibn Alqayyim, Assid Ibn Alkhadir, Salim Alharbi and Bajaber.
He was thaught by the greatest preachers, like Yusuf Al Ahmadi who played a huge role in his education, plus other preachers such as, Abelwahab Al Ahmadi, Awda Addahiri, Abdellah Alqarni, Hadi Said, and Mohammed Rafii.
During the period where he was an Imam in Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Abu Dhabi for Tarawih prayers, his voice and the way he recited the Quran was admired, and was able to attract thousands of people, as a results, he was nominated the official Imam of this mosque where he led the prayers on Saturday November 23rd, 2013 during the Maghreb Prayers.
In the last few years, he moved into many Islamic countries for leading prayers in Tarawih, such as Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, UAE, and number of other countries in Africa and Asia.
Idriss Abkar possesses a variety of audio-video recordings, which includes, Quran recitation, and number of prayers and supplications.

I am from Türkiye. I have discovered this site a few months ago and I appreciate it very much. My favorite qari in this site is Idriss abkar. He recites Qur'an in such a way that every word touches my brain and heart. He is almost depicturing words with his voice. His voice is so strong. In Türkiye, there is a saying about Qur'an: "The holy Qur'an was revealed in Mecca and Medina, recited in Egypt and written in Istanbul." However, I think Saudi Arabian qaris are the best. They make me feel the power of Arabic.

May Allaah protect this great Qari and reward him and this site owner abundantly. My family love his recitation. I am just trying to memorise with the help of his recitation. The Qari is such a wonderful reciter that I am really trying to cry like him whenever Allaah mentions His punishment for disbelievers and reward for believers. May Allaam make us fear Him much and help us to worship Him as He deserved to be worshipped.

I love listening to Sudais, Alafasy, AlAjmi, Bukhathir, Shatri, but MaashAllah this brother has a very unique and heart warming voice. Surah Mulk is a very powerful surah recited by this brother in a very heart touching manner. May Allah bless him. He really has made my whole body shiver. Its a blessing from Allah (swt) to have brothers like these in our life time.

Masha Allah, what a beautiful voice, may Allah reward him. I like his voice. His recitation so slow and very clear so that any once can get it very fast. Assalamu alaikum , Masha Allah The voice of sheikh idhrees Abkar influence me a lot in listening quran audio. before I use to hear music in radio. fortunately,once when I am tuning radio I heard Sheikh Idhrees Abkar's qira ah; from there daily I use to hear quran.
Now I downloaded his qira ah.
I love listening to Idriss Abkar great Qari but I like also Yasin very much. Masha Allah... He has a very good voice and very slow once too. He has a very good pronunciation. His recitation is slow and very clear so that any one can get it very fast.

excellent website, i can hear some of the most amazing recitations. Idris Akbar, Budair listening to them reciting surah qiyahmah, surah mulk, surah yaseen etc all of it makes fell makes me relaxed to listen to such emotional and beutiful quran reading.
