Read Surat Al-Ghashiya with Tafsir and Translation

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ الْغَاشِيَةِ [١]

Translation: English - Sahih International

Has there reached you the report of the Overwhelming [event]?

Verse number: 1

وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ خَاشِعَةٌ [٢]

Translation: English - Sahih International

[Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled,

Verse number: 2

عَامِلَةٌ نَاصِبَةٌ [٣]

Translation: English - Sahih International

Working [hard] and exhausted.

Verse number: 3

تَصْلَىٰ نَارًا حَامِيَةً [٤]

Translation: English - Sahih International

They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire.

Verse number: 4

تُسْقَىٰ مِنْ عَيْنٍ آنِيَةٍ [٥]

Translation: English - Sahih International

They will be given drink from a boiling spring.

Verse number: 5

لَيْسَ لَهُمْ طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِنْ ضَرِيعٍ [٦]

Translation: English - Sahih International

For them there will be no food except from a poisonous, thorny plant

Verse number: 6

لَا يُسْمِنُ وَلَا يُغْنِي مِنْ جُوعٍ [٧]

Translation: English - Sahih International

Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger.

Verse number: 7

وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَاعِمَةٌ [٨]

Translation: English - Sahih International

[Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure.

Verse number: 8

لِسَعْيِهَا رَاضِيَةٌ [٩]

Translation: English - Sahih International

With their effort [they are] satisfied

Verse number: 9

فِي جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٍ [١٠]

Translation: English - Sahih International

In an elevated garden,

Verse number: 10

لَا تَسْمَعُ فِيهَا لَاغِيَةً [١١]

Translation: English - Sahih International

Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech.

Verse number: 11

فِيهَا عَيْنٌ جَارِيَةٌ [١٢]

Translation: English - Sahih International

Within it is a flowing spring.

Verse number: 12

فِيهَا سُرُرٌ مَرْفُوعَةٌ [١٣]

Translation: English - Sahih International

Within it are couches raised high

Verse number: 13

وَأَكْوَابٌ مَوْضُوعَةٌ [١٤]

Translation: English - Sahih International

And cups put in place

Verse number: 14

وَنَمَارِقُ مَصْفُوفَةٌ [١٥]

Translation: English - Sahih International

And cushions lined up

Verse number: 15

وَزَرَابِيُّ مَبْثُوثَةٌ [١٦]

Translation: English - Sahih International

And carpets spread around.

Verse number: 16

أَفَلَا يَنْظُرُونَ إِلَى الْإِبِلِ كَيْفَ خُلِقَتْ [١٧]

Translation: English - Sahih International

Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created?

Verse number: 17

وَإِلَى السَّمَاءِ كَيْفَ رُفِعَتْ [١٨]

Translation: English - Sahih International

And at the sky - how it is raised?

Verse number: 18

وَإِلَى الْجِبَالِ كَيْفَ نُصِبَتْ [١٩]

Translation: English - Sahih International

And at the mountains - how they are erected?

Verse number: 19

وَإِلَى الْأَرْضِ كَيْفَ سُطِحَتْ [٢٠]

Translation: English - Sahih International

And at the earth - how it is spread out?

Verse number: 20

فَذَكِّرْ إِنَّمَا أَنْتَ مُذَكِّرٌ [٢١]

Translation: English - Sahih International

So remind, [O Muhammad]; you are only a reminder.

Verse number: 21

لَسْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ بِمُصَيْطِرٍ [٢٢]

Translation: English - Sahih International

You are not over them a controller.

Verse number: 22

إِلَّا مَنْ تَوَلَّىٰ وَكَفَرَ [٢٣]

Translation: English - Sahih International

However, he who turns away and disbelieves -

Verse number: 23

فَيُعَذِّبُهُ اللَّهُ الْعَذَابَ الْأَكْبَرَ [٢٤]

Translation: English - Sahih International

Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment.

Verse number: 24

إِنَّ إِلَيْنَا إِيَابَهُمْ [٢٥]

Translation: English - Sahih International

Indeed, to Us is their return.

Verse number: 25

ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا حِسَابَهُمْ [٢٦]

Translation: English - Sahih International

Then indeed, upon Us is their account.
