Read Surat At-tur with Tafsir and Translation

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

وَالطُّورِ [١]

Translation: English - Sahih International

By the mount

Verse number: 1

وَكِتَابٍ مَسْطُورٍ [٢]

Translation: English - Sahih International

And [by] a Book inscribed

Verse number: 2

فِي رَقٍّ مَنْشُورٍ [٣]

Translation: English - Sahih International

In parchment spread open

Verse number: 3

وَالْبَيْتِ الْمَعْمُورِ [٤]

Translation: English - Sahih International

And [by] the frequented House

Verse number: 4

وَالسَّقْفِ الْمَرْفُوعِ [٥]

Translation: English - Sahih International

And [by] the heaven raised high

Verse number: 5

وَالْبَحْرِ الْمَسْجُورِ [٦]

Translation: English - Sahih International

And [by] the sea filled [with fire],

Verse number: 6

إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّكَ لَوَاقِعٌ [٧]

Translation: English - Sahih International

Indeed, the punishment of your Lord will occur.

Verse number: 7

مَا لَهُ مِنْ دَافِعٍ [٨]

Translation: English - Sahih International

Of it there is no preventer.

Verse number: 8

يَوْمَ تَمُورُ السَّمَاءُ مَوْرًا [٩]

Translation: English - Sahih International

On the Day the heaven will sway with circular motion

Verse number: 9

وَتَسِيرُ الْجِبَالُ سَيْرًا [١٠]

Translation: English - Sahih International

And the mountains will pass on, departing -

Verse number: 10

فَوَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ [١١]

Translation: English - Sahih International

Then woe, that Day, to the deniers,

Verse number: 11

الَّذِينَ هُمْ فِي خَوْضٍ يَلْعَبُونَ [١٢]

Translation: English - Sahih International

Who are in [empty] discourse amusing themselves.

Verse number: 12

يَوْمَ يُدَعُّونَ إِلَىٰ نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ دَعًّا [١٣]

Translation: English - Sahih International

The Day they are thrust toward the fire of Hell with a [violent] thrust, [its angels will say],

Verse number: 13

هَٰذِهِ النَّارُ الَّتِي كُنْتُمْ بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ [١٤]

Translation: English - Sahih International

"This is the Fire which you used to deny.

Verse number: 14

أَفَسِحْرٌ هَٰذَا أَمْ أَنْتُمْ لَا تُبْصِرُونَ [١٥]

Translation: English - Sahih International

Then is this magic, or do you not see?

Verse number: 15

اصْلَوْهَا فَاصْبِرُوا أَوْ لَا تَصْبِرُوا سَوَاءٌ عَلَيْكُمْ إِنَّمَا تُجْزَوْنَ مَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ [١٦]

Translation: English - Sahih International

[Enter to] burn therein; then be patient or impatient - it is all the same for you. You are only being recompensed [for] what you used to do."

Verse number: 16

إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّاتٍ وَنَعِيمٍ [١٧]

Translation: English - Sahih International

Indeed, the righteous will be in gardens and pleasure,

Verse number: 17

فَاكِهِينَ بِمَا آتَاهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ وَوَقَاهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ عَذَابَ الْجَحِيمِ [١٨]

Translation: English - Sahih International

Enjoying what their Lord has given them, and their Lord protected them from the punishment of Hellfire.

Verse number: 18

كُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا هَنِيئًا بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ [١٩]

Translation: English - Sahih International

[They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you used to do."

Verse number: 19

مُتَّكِئِينَ عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مَصْفُوفَةٍ وَزَوَّجْنَاهُمْ بِحُورٍ عِينٍ [٢٠]

Translation: English - Sahih International

They will be reclining on thrones lined up, and We will marry them to fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes.

Verse number: 20

وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَاتَّبَعَتْهُمْ ذُرِّيَّتُهُمْ بِإِيمَانٍ أَلْحَقْنَا بِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ وَمَا أَلَتْنَاهُمْ مِنْ عَمَلِهِمْ مِنْ شَيْءٍ كُلُّ امْرِئٍ بِمَا كَسَبَ رَهِينٌ [٢١]

Translation: English - Sahih International

And those who believed and whose descendants followed them in faith - We will join with them their descendants, and We will not deprive them of anything of their deeds. Every person, for what he earned, is retained.

Verse number: 21

وَأَمْدَدْنَاهُمْ بِفَاكِهَةٍ وَلَحْمٍ مِمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ [٢٢]

Translation: English - Sahih International

And We will provide them with fruit and meat from whatever they desire.

Verse number: 22

يَتَنَازَعُونَ فِيهَا كَأْسًا لَا لَغْوٌ فِيهَا وَلَا تَأْثِيمٌ [٢٣]

Translation: English - Sahih International

They will exchange with one another a cup [of wine] wherein [results] no ill speech or commission of sin.

Verse number: 23

وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ غِلْمَانٌ لَهُمْ كَأَنَّهُمْ لُؤْلُؤٌ مَكْنُونٌ [٢٤]

Translation: English - Sahih International

There will circulate among them [servant] boys [especially] for them, as if they were pearls well-protected.

Verse number: 24

وَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ يَتَسَاءَلُونَ [٢٥]

Translation: English - Sahih International

And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other.

Verse number: 25

قَالُوا إِنَّا كُنَّا قَبْلُ فِي أَهْلِنَا مُشْفِقِينَ [٢٦]

Translation: English - Sahih International

They will say, "Indeed, we were previously among our people fearful [of displeasing Allah ].

Verse number: 26

فَمَنَّ اللَّهُ عَلَيْنَا وَوَقَانَا عَذَابَ السَّمُومِ [٢٧]

Translation: English - Sahih International

So Allah conferred favor upon us and protected us from the punishment of the Scorching Fire.

Verse number: 27

إِنَّا كُنَّا مِنْ قَبْلُ نَدْعُوهُ إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْبَرُّ الرَّحِيمُ [٢٨]

Translation: English - Sahih International

Indeed, we used to supplicate Him before. Indeed, it is He who is the Beneficent, the Merciful."

Verse number: 28

فَذَكِّرْ فَمَا أَنْتَ بِنِعْمَتِ رَبِّكَ بِكَاهِنٍ وَلَا مَجْنُونٍ [٢٩]

Translation: English - Sahih International

So remind [O Muhammad], for you are not, by the favor of your Lord, a soothsayer or a madman.

Verse number: 29

أَمْ يَقُولُونَ شَاعِرٌ نَتَرَبَّصُ بِهِ رَيْبَ الْمَنُونِ [٣٠]

Translation: English - Sahih International

Or do they say [of you], "A poet for whom we await a misfortune of time?"

Verse number: 30

قُلْ تَرَبَّصُوا فَإِنِّي مَعَكُمْ مِنَ الْمُتَرَبِّصِينَ [٣١]

Translation: English - Sahih International

Say, "Wait, for indeed I am, with you, among the waiters."

Verse number: 31

أَمْ تَأْمُرُهُمْ أَحْلَامُهُمْ بِهَٰذَا أَمْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ طَاغُونَ [٣٢]

Translation: English - Sahih International

Or do their minds command them to [say] this, or are they a transgressing people?

Verse number: 32

أَمْ يَقُولُونَ تَقَوَّلَهُ بَلْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ [٣٣]

Translation: English - Sahih International

Or do they say, "He has made it up"? Rather, they do not believe.

Verse number: 33

فَلْيَأْتُوا بِحَدِيثٍ مِثْلِهِ إِنْ كَانُوا صَادِقِينَ [٣٤]

Translation: English - Sahih International

Then let them produce a statement like it, if they should be truthful.

Verse number: 34

أَمْ خُلِقُوا مِنْ غَيْرِ شَيْءٍ أَمْ هُمُ الْخَالِقُونَ [٣٥]

Translation: English - Sahih International

Or were they created by nothing, or were they the creators [of themselves]?

Verse number: 35

أَمْ خَلَقُوا السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ بَلْ لَا يُوقِنُونَ [٣٦]

Translation: English - Sahih International

Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Rather, they are not certain.

Verse number: 36

أَمْ عِنْدَهُمْ خَزَائِنُ رَبِّكَ أَمْ هُمُ الْمُصَيْطِرُونَ [٣٧]

Translation: English - Sahih International

Or have they the depositories [containing the provision] of your Lord? Or are they the controllers [of them]?

Verse number: 37

أَمْ لَهُمْ سُلَّمٌ يَسْتَمِعُونَ فِيهِ فَلْيَأْتِ مُسْتَمِعُهُمْ بِسُلْطَانٍ مُبِينٍ [٣٨]

Translation: English - Sahih International

Or have they a stairway [into the heaven] upon which they listen? Then let their listener produce a clear authority.

Verse number: 38

أَمْ لَهُ الْبَنَاتُ وَلَكُمُ الْبَنُونَ [٣٩]

Translation: English - Sahih International

Or has He daughters while you have sons?

Verse number: 39

أَمْ تَسْأَلُهُمْ أَجْرًا فَهُمْ مِنْ مَغْرَمٍ مُثْقَلُونَ [٤٠]

Translation: English - Sahih International

Or do you, [O Muhammad], ask of them a payment, so they are by debt burdened down?

Verse number: 40

أَمْ عِنْدَهُمُ الْغَيْبُ فَهُمْ يَكْتُبُونَ [٤١]

Translation: English - Sahih International

Or have they [knowledge of] the unseen, so they write [it] down?

Verse number: 41

أَمْ يُرِيدُونَ كَيْدًا فَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا هُمُ الْمَكِيدُونَ [٤٢]

Translation: English - Sahih International

Or do they intend a plan? But those who disbelieve - they are the object of a plan.

Verse number: 42

أَمْ لَهُمْ إِلَٰهٌ غَيْرُ اللَّهِ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ [٤٣]

Translation: English - Sahih International

Or have they a deity other than Allah ? Exalted is Allah above whatever they associate with Him.

Verse number: 43

وَإِنْ يَرَوْا كِسْفًا مِنَ السَّمَاءِ سَاقِطًا يَقُولُوا سَحَابٌ مَرْكُومٌ [٤٤]

Translation: English - Sahih International

And if they were to see a fragment from the sky falling, they would say, "[It is merely] clouds heaped up."

Verse number: 44

فَذَرْهُمْ حَتَّىٰ يُلَاقُوا يَوْمَهُمُ الَّذِي فِيهِ يُصْعَقُونَ [٤٥]

Translation: English - Sahih International

So leave them until they meet their Day in which they will be struck insensible -

Verse number: 45

يَوْمَ لَا يُغْنِي عَنْهُمْ كَيْدُهُمْ شَيْئًا وَلَا هُمْ يُنْصَرُونَ [٤٦]

Translation: English - Sahih International

The Day their plan will not avail them at all, nor will they be helped.

Verse number: 46

وَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا عَذَابًا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ [٤٧]

Translation: English - Sahih International

And indeed, for those who have wronged is a punishment before that, but most of them do not know.

Verse number: 47

وَاصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ فَإِنَّكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ [٤٨]

Translation: English - Sahih International

And be patient, [O Muhammad], for the decision of your Lord, for indeed, you are in Our eyes. And exalt [ Allah ] with praise of your Lord when you arise.

Verse number: 48

وَمِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْهُ وَإِدْبَارَ النُّجُومِ [٤٩]

Translation: English - Sahih International

And in a part of the night exalt Him and after [the setting of] the stars.
