Read Surat Al-Mutaffifin with Tafsir and Translation

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

وَيْلٌ لِلْمُطَفِّفِينَ [١]

Translation: English - Sahih International

Woe to those who give less [than due],

Verse number: 1

الَّذِينَ إِذَا اكْتَالُوا عَلَى النَّاسِ يَسْتَوْفُونَ [٢]

Translation: English - Sahih International

Who, when they take a measure from people, take in full.

Verse number: 2

وَإِذَا كَالُوهُمْ أَوْ وَزَنُوهُمْ يُخْسِرُونَ [٣]

Translation: English - Sahih International

But if they give by measure or by weight to them, they cause loss.

Verse number: 3

أَلَا يَظُنُّ أُولَٰئِكَ أَنَّهُمْ مَبْعُوثُونَ [٤]

Translation: English - Sahih International

Do they not think that they will be resurrected

Verse number: 4

لِيَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ [٥]

Translation: English - Sahih International

For a tremendous Day -

Verse number: 5

يَوْمَ يَقُومُ النَّاسُ لِرَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ [٦]

Translation: English - Sahih International

The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the worlds?

Verse number: 6

كَلَّا إِنَّ كِتَابَ الْفُجَّارِ لَفِي سِجِّينٍ [٧]

Translation: English - Sahih International

No! Indeed, the record of the wicked is in sijjeen.

Verse number: 7

وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا سِجِّينٌ [٨]

Translation: English - Sahih International

And what can make you know what is sijjeen?

Verse number: 8

كِتَابٌ مَرْقُومٌ [٩]

Translation: English - Sahih International

It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed.

Verse number: 9

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ [١٠]

Translation: English - Sahih International

Woe, that Day, to the deniers,

Verse number: 10

الَّذِينَ يُكَذِّبُونَ بِيَوْمِ الدِّينِ [١١]

Translation: English - Sahih International

Who deny the Day of Recompense.

Verse number: 11

وَمَا يُكَذِّبُ بِهِ إِلَّا كُلُّ مُعْتَدٍ أَثِيمٍ [١٢]

Translation: English - Sahih International

And none deny it except every sinful transgressor.

Verse number: 12

إِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِ آيَاتُنَا قَالَ أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ [١٣]

Translation: English - Sahih International

When Our verses are recited to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples."

Verse number: 13

كَلَّا بَلْ رَانَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ مَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ [١٤]

Translation: English - Sahih International

No! Rather, the stain has covered their hearts of that which they were earning.

Verse number: 14

كَلَّا إِنَّهُمْ عَنْ رَبِّهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ لَمَحْجُوبُونَ [١٥]

Translation: English - Sahih International

No! Indeed, from their Lord, that Day, they will be partitioned.

Verse number: 15

ثُمَّ إِنَّهُمْ لَصَالُو الْجَحِيمِ [١٦]

Translation: English - Sahih International

Then indeed, they will [enter and] burn in Hellfire.

Verse number: 16

ثُمَّ يُقَالُ هَٰذَا الَّذِي كُنْتُمْ بِهِ تُكَذِّبُونَ [١٧]

Translation: English - Sahih International

Then it will be said [to them], "This is what you used to deny."

Verse number: 17

كَلَّا إِنَّ كِتَابَ الْأَبْرَارِ لَفِي عِلِّيِّينَ [١٨]

Translation: English - Sahih International

No! Indeed, the record of the righteous is in 'illiyyun.

Verse number: 18

وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا عِلِّيُّونَ [١٩]

Translation: English - Sahih International

And what can make you know what is 'illiyyun?

Verse number: 19

كِتَابٌ مَرْقُومٌ [٢٠]

Translation: English - Sahih International

It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed

Verse number: 20

يَشْهَدُهُ الْمُقَرَّبُونَ [٢١]

Translation: English - Sahih International

Which is witnessed by those brought near [to Allah ].

إِنَّ الْأَبْرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيمٍ [٢٢]

Translation: English - Sahih International

Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure

Verse number: 22

عَلَى الْأَرَائِكِ يَنْظُرُونَ [٢٣]

Translation: English - Sahih International

On adorned couches, observing.

Verse number: 23

تَعْرِفُ فِي وُجُوهِهِمْ نَضْرَةَ النَّعِيمِ [٢٤]

Translation: English - Sahih International

You will recognize in their faces the radiance of pleasure.

Verse number: 24

يُسْقَوْنَ مِنْ رَحِيقٍ مَخْتُومٍ [٢٥]

Translation: English - Sahih International

They will be given to drink [pure] wine [which was] sealed.

Verse number: 25

خِتَامُهُ مِسْكٌ وَفِي ذَٰلِكَ فَلْيَتَنَافَسِ الْمُتَنَافِسُونَ [٢٦]

Translation: English - Sahih International

The last of it is musk. So for this let the competitors compete.

Verse number: 26

وَمِزَاجُهُ مِنْ تَسْنِيمٍ [٢٧]

Translation: English - Sahih International

And its mixture is of Tasneem,

Verse number: 27

عَيْنًا يَشْرَبُ بِهَا الْمُقَرَّبُونَ [٢٨]

Translation: English - Sahih International

A spring from which those near [to Allah ] drink.

Verse number: 28

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ أَجْرَمُوا كَانُوا مِنَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا يَضْحَكُونَ [٢٩]

Translation: English - Sahih International

Indeed, those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed.

Verse number: 29

وَإِذَا مَرُّوا بِهِمْ يَتَغَامَزُونَ [٣٠]

Translation: English - Sahih International

And when they passed by them, they would exchange derisive glances.

Verse number: 30

وَإِذَا انْقَلَبُوا إِلَىٰ أَهْلِهِمُ انْقَلَبُوا فَكِهِينَ [٣١]

Translation: English - Sahih International

And when they returned to their people, they would return jesting.

Verse number: 31

وَإِذَا رَأَوْهُمْ قَالُوا إِنَّ هَٰؤُلَاءِ لَضَالُّونَ [٣٢]

Translation: English - Sahih International

And when they saw them, they would say, "Indeed, those are truly lost."

وَمَا أُرْسِلُوا عَلَيْهِمْ حَافِظِينَ [٣٣]

Translation: English - Sahih International

But they had not been sent as guardians over them.

Verse number: 33

فَالْيَوْمَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنَ الْكُفَّارِ يَضْحَكُونَ [٣٤]

Translation: English - Sahih International

So Today those who believed are laughing at the disbelievers,

عَلَى الْأَرَائِكِ يَنْظُرُونَ [٣٥]

Translation: English - Sahih International

On adorned couches, observing.

Verse number: 35

هَلْ ثُوِّبَ الْكُفَّارُ مَا كَانُوا يَفْعَلُونَ [٣٦]

Translation: English - Sahih International

Have the disbelievers [not] been rewarded [this Day] for what they used to do?
